The MAIA is managed by a five-member Executive

The current Executive members are:
  The Executive is elected every 24 month by a vote of all voting members.

The Executive is assisted by a 'Special Advisory Committee'

This Committee is comprised of people from the Martial Arts Industry that have a particular area of expertise either in qualification or work experience that can assist the MAIA Executive in providing expert advice in the development and implementation of its policies and its governance procedures.

The Current Special Advisory Committee members are:
  • Kevin Blundell - admin@kumiai-ryu.com.au
    Kevin is currently employed by the NSW Office of Fair Trading and is a member of the Australian Kung Fu (Wu Shu) Federation Inc.

  • Alf Cocco - alf.cocco@mail.treasury.nsw.gov.au
    Alf is a qualified accountant and is currently employed by the New South Wales Treasury office and is a member of the Australia Jeet Kune Do Association Inc.

  • Catherine Hallgath - catherine@hallgathphillips.com
    Catherine is a Solicitor with 'Hallgath Phillips Lawyers' and is a member of the Australian Kendo Renmai

  • Garry Spencer - gspencer@telpacific.com.au
    Garry an accredited OH & S Safety Auditor, Qualified Advanced Rail Safety Investigation, Department of Aviation - University of NSW and is currently employed as the Manager, Investigations. Railcorp Infrastructure Division. Safety, Quality & Environment. Garry is a member of the Australian Kung Fu (Wu Shu)
    Federation Inc.

  • Jim Stackpoole - stackpoole.jamesl@police.qld.gov.au
    Jim is a Superintendent of Police with the Queensland Police Service.

  • Stuart Scowcroft - stuart@intomedia.com.au
    Stuart is one of Australia's most senior television Executive Producers. Stuart was formerly Executive Producer of 'The Investigators', Head of the Department of Features ABC TV, Executive Producer with Nine and Ten Networks, Head of Television and New Media Becker Entertainment Group. Stuart
    is currently the Managing Director of IntoMedia and a Executive member of the Australian Documentary Foundation.

    Stuart will be assisting the MAIA in all media related matters.
