Information
to assist persons qualified with the Australian Qualifications Framework
who are seeking Accreditation.
The
MAIA will recognise Certificate three, Certificate four and Diplomas
in Sports Coaching (martial arts) as either partial or full RPL
credit towards accreditation.
Accreditation may be granted by the MAIA to an instructor who has
qualified as a minimum Certificate III Community Recreation (Instruct)
that must include the units SRC SDF 001A. 002A, 003A and SRX CAI
003A.
Accreditation may be granted by the MAIA to an instructor who has
qualified as a minimum Certificate III in Coaching that must include
the unit of competency SRSMAR005A plus one of the units SRSMAR006A
to SRSMAR0011A
In
both of these cases instructors must meet the MAIA's herein listed
minimum standards before accreditation will be granted:
Compliance with the National Code of Practise for Martial Arts instructors
& the MAIA Risk Management Policy Child protection / prohibited
employment clearance Insurance and Minimum first aid qualifications
verification of the applicants Martial Arts qualifications
The MAIA may choose not to recognise qualifications:
That
have been issued by an organization not scoped to issue said qualifications
that have been issued outside of the AQF assessment guidelines that
have been issued as a result of an improper financial inducement
Applicants should complete the appropriate application form (RPL
Application - Forms and Publications), upon receipt of the application
the MAIA will forward an 'RPL Accreditation Checklist'.
When
the items on the checklist are received by the MAIA the MAIA will
them issue the appropriate accreditation.
Accreditations so issued will expire after four years but may be
updated for a further four years.
The MAIA will provide initial accreditation for persons qualified
under the AQF as a service to industry participants - it does not
charge for this service.
