MARTIAL ARTS - SEX OFFENDERS

Over the last ten years the MAIA has lobbied SCORS (Standing Committee on Recreation and Sport) -

As well as the State Sport Departments in Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales to bring in more effective mechanisms to deal with sex offenders in the Martial Arts Industry.

Our efforts have been largely ignored by these Government Departments/Agencies.

The MAIA will continue its leading position on this most important issue.

If you are a parent please ensure that your martial arts instructor is NMAS Accredited. This accreditation means the bearer has been Child Protection Checked.

As a parent you can choose between an accredited instructor or one who is not accredited.
